What Are Cookies & Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They let the site recognize your browser on later requests — keeping you signed in, remembering your settings, and helping the site work the way you expect. We also use a few closely related technologies that serve similar purposes.

Cookies
Small files set in your browser. A “session” cookie is cleared when you close the browser; a “persistent” cookie stays for a set lifespan.
Local storage
Browser storage we use for lightweight preferences, such as your light/dark theme choice, so it persists between visits on the same device.
Pixels & SDKs
Tiny tracking images or embedded scripts (for example, our analytics SDK) that record that a page or action loaded, and may set or read cookies.

First-party vs. third-party

First-party technologies are set by Ticketbaba on our own domain (for example, your session cookie). Third-party technologies are set by services we rely on — such as our analytics and anti-fraud providers — and are governed by their own privacy policies. We describe each provider in the sections below.

02

How We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies only for the purposes below. We do not use them for advertising or cross-site retargeting, and we do not sell your personal information.

Specifically, cookies help us:

  • Keep you signed in — maintain your authenticated session so you don’t have to log in on every page, including our passwordless phone one-time-passcode (OTP) login.
  • Remember your preferences — store your light/dark theme choice so the interface looks the way you left it.
  • Secure our forms — protect against cross-site request forgery and automated abuse on forms such as the contact form.
  • Measure & improve the product — understand which features are used and where people run into trouble, so we can make Ticketbaba faster and easier to use.
03

Categories of Cookies We Use

We group the cookies and similar technologies we use into four categories. The tables below describe what each one is for and roughly how long it lasts.

Strictly necessary

These are required for the site to function — you cannot stay signed in, check out, or submit secure forms without them. They do not require consent.

_ticketbaba_session
Rails session cookie that ties your browser to your session on our servers. Session (cleared when you close the browser).
CSRF token
Anti-forgery token that proves form and action requests genuinely came from you. Session.
Devise authentication
Keeps you logged into your account between page loads. Session, or persistent if you choose to stay signed in.
Phone OTP login
Supports the passwordless SMS one-time-passcode sign-in flow (codes delivered via Twilio). Short-lived / session.

Preferences

Theme / dark mode
Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode so the interface stays consistent. Persistent (until you change it or clear your browser storage).

Analytics & performance

PostHog
Product analytics that measure feature usage, page views, and performance so we can improve Ticketbaba. May set first- and third-party cookies and collect usage data. Persistent (typically up to ~12 months) and session.

Security & anti-fraud

Google reCAPTCHA v3
Protects forms such as the contact form from spam and automated abuse by scoring traffic. Sets cookies governed by Google’s privacy policy and terms. Persistent and session.
04

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by the third-party services we rely on rather than by Ticketbaba directly. These providers set and read their own cookies under their own privacy policies, and we do not control how they operate.

PostHog
Product analytics. See the PostHog Privacy Policy.
Google reCAPTCHA
Form security and anti-fraud. See the Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service.

What we don't do

We do not run advertising or retargeting cookies, we do not build cross-site advertising profiles, and we do not sell your personal information.

05

How Long Cookies Last

How long a cookie stays on your device depends on its type. We keep cookie lifespans as short as is practical for their purpose.

Session cookies
Exist only while your browser is open and are deleted automatically when you close it. We use these for your login session and CSRF protection.
Persistent cookies
Remain for a defined period or until you delete them. We use these for your theme preference and for analytics and security providers.

Typical lifespans range from the length of a single browsing session up to about twelve months for analytics and security cookies. Third-party providers may apply their own durations as described in their policies.

06

Managing & Disabling Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view, block, or clear cookies, either globally or for a specific site.

Where to look in common browsers:

  • Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Clear browsing data.
  • Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.

If you disable strictly necessary cookies

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break core functionality — you will not be able to stay signed in, complete a purchase, or submit secure forms. These cookies are essential to providing the service you requested.

For third-party services, you can also review their own controls and opt-outs in the policies linked in the Third-Party Cookies section above.

07

Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control (GPC)

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting, and some support the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which communicates a privacy preference to the sites you visit.

Because we do not run advertising or retargeting cookies and do not sell personal information, there is no cross-site tracking for these signals to switch off. Where a GPC signal carries legal effect under applicable privacy law, we honor it as a valid request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information — which, for Ticketbaba, we already do not do.

08

Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in applicable law. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this page.

If we make a material change to how we use cookies, we will take reasonable steps to notify you — for example, through a notice on the site or another appropriate channel. Your continued use of Ticketbaba after an update means you accept the revised policy.
